Dubroom Online - February 28 2009

"DMB 2.0 (1)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, February 28 2009 - Well, it's kind of official now: the previous host of the Dubroom Message Boards is no more. I have discovered a confirmation of this message, and so, yeah, well, eeh....

We can now officially speak of the fact that the old Dubroom Message Boards were version 1.0, and since a few weeks we have the Dubroom Message Boards 2.0, or in short: DMB 2.0

Time to look forward, as it is evident that not even the data can be retrieved from the old servers. Everything is simply gone...

Gone like the winter, here in the Netherlands. In a few days, it's gonna be springtime over here which also is a perfect reason to look forward as slowly nature start to wake up again to give us JAH blessings...

One Love, Give Thanks,

WAR AGAINST REGGAE

image

Dubroom Online - February 27 2009

"WAR AGAINST REGGAE" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, February 27 2009 - Reggae Music remains to be a Freedom Sound, even though there are many who "lapsed", or did the opposite: Jumped On The Band Wagon.

All of this is part of the fact that nothing in this fallen Creation will be perfect. Even stronger, everything in this fallen creation is subject to decay.

But there is also something else going on, ever since Reggae Music "threatened" to become the Sounds of Freedom on the World Wide scale that Reggae is currently being appreciloved.

There's a "War on Drugs", a "War on Terror", but there is also a "War On Reggae".

A War Against Reggae, even.

NEW AGE RAGE

image

Dubroom Online - February 26 2009

"NEW AGE RAGE" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, February 26 2009 - For today's edition of Dubroom Online, there is an addition to the Babylon Observer series entitled "New Age Rage".

It's a series that takes a humoristic look at segments of Mystery Babylon. Just like the Most High Himself is recorded to laugh about the Shitstem (see the second psalm for that), so can we also laugh about the obvious stupidities and so on that accompany the Mystery in her upcoming downfall.

In the video "David Icke, the Lizards and the Jews", we meet up with the political correct crowd that just doesn't know what to do with this maverick in the matrix and turns to the most "outrageous conspiracy theories" (to quote one famous conspiracy theorist) in an pathetic attempt to silence the man.

Good entertainment!

ONCE UPON A TIME...

image

Dubroom Online - February 25 2009

"ONCE UPON A TIME..." (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, February 25 2009 - Three decades ago, a band was playing somewhere in the UK. The band was highly concentrated, as they performed their music. A music, very lively and heartical.

It was quite an experience, as the musicians laid the foundation for the lead and backing vocals to sing their song of praise to the Almighty One over a Reggae Riddim.

Reggae Music, Live and Direct...

It had been popularized by Bob Marley and Burning Spear, who gave the inspiration for a generation of Jamaicans in the UK to start their own bands and spread the music.

Some of them are playing until this very day, others are forgotten and they should not be.

The Sons Of JAH were one out of many of such bands.

21th CENTURY DUB

image

Dubroom Online - February 24 2009

"21th CENTURY DUB" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, February 24 2009 - Contemporary, digital (Dance) music would not have been what it is, if it were not for DUB music.

Reggae DUB Music, to be exact.

For during the journey into the digital technologies that enable the contemporary producer to do just about everything (s)he wants, there are echo's everywhere from the 1970's when King Tubby and his protégées started it all.

The MP3 that is reviewed for today's edition of Dubroom Online is a perfect example of how the Roots meet the Fruits. An extremely danceable tune that will be ignored by the puritan Reggae fan on one hand, but will also attract the fan of contemporary music into the realm of DUB and subsequently Reggae Music.

THE NAKED EMPEROR

image

Dubroom Online - February 23 2009

"THE NAKED EMPEROR" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, February 23 2009 - For today's edition of Dubroom Online, we have -among other things- a very long, in-depth article entitled "Barack Obama: The Naked Emperor".

The article obviously refers to the old story about the naked emperor that demanded everyone to praise the clothes that he obviously didn't wear. Until a little boy started to say the truth, everyone was following the lie.

It's extremely against the vibe of the time to speak out again the fact that being the president of the USA is not the same as being the Almighty One. Extremely against the fashion, to say that "Rasta Don't Work For No CIA".

Confusing? Of course! Just remember that translation of the name "Babylon".

REGGAE RADIO

image

Dubroom Online - February 22 2009

"REGGAE RADIO" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, February 22 2009 - In this time of Podcasting and Webcasting, we are at the brink of forgetting the times before the Internet.

People in Jamaica were among the first to be blessed with their own Reggae Radio program. The very first one, Dread at the Control, was hosted by Michael Campbell, aka Mikey Dread.

Unfortunately, the brethren has recently passed away but history can never change just what he did for the promotion of Reggae Music.

Reggae Music had to struggle very hard, not just in the world, but in Jamaica to begin with. It wasn't so, that everybody in Jamaica was happy with the Freedom Sounds.

Mikey Dread was one of the biggest warriors to get Reggae Music accepted in Jamaica during the 1970's.

We will never forget him.

EXIT XSORBIT

image

Dubroom Online - February 21 2009

"EXIT XSORBIT" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, February 21 2009 - As Xsorbit, the previous host of the Dubroom Messageboards, is now offline for the second week, it becomes more and more obvious that it was a good decision to set up new ones somewhere else.

It's a disgrace, though. There was no email warning us for any upcoming demise of the company. Many, many messageboards are off-line. Many, many people are wondering what happened to the boards they used to visit.

I don't think I can get more detailed information concerning the allegation we find on the Internet, that the CEO of Xsorbit is on the run for the police because of some mortgage fraud.

But the fact that official websites say a man with the same name is on the run, to another country where also another department of Xsorbit is located, does raise eye-browses doesn't it...

MOVING THE MESSAGEBOARDS

image

Dubroom Online - February 20 2009

"MOVING THE MESSAGEBOARDS" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, February 20 2009 - These last days I have been working like crazy to get the new Dubroom Message Boards up and running. It is a work that brings mixed emotions.

I had to change links in thousands of pages on the Dubroom website, and I am still not completely finished with this. However, the MP3 reviews and Video Reviews should all link to the new boards.

As I am writing this, the old Message Boards on xsorbit are still off-line. I don't even know if they ever will be online again, but I truly hope so. It's just too sad, that we had to make a move.

On the other hand, the new boards have many more possibilities for participants and for the administrator (that would be me). Especially the possibility to embed YouTube video's in posting is a thing that I very much like.
