"FR DUB" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)
WWW, August 23 2009 - Just recently, the Dubroom reviewed quite a few online DUB releases by French Artists on French Net Labels.
It's a form of DUB/Roots which has a lot of similarities with UK DUB and Roots, but there is definitely a French Touch to it which justifies the statement that yes, there really is such a thing as "FR DUB".
One interesting similarity with UK DUB is, that both genres could sometimes be filed as Dance just as much as Dub. A missing link, if you will, between contemporary forms of digital music and traditional Reggae Music.
Another interesting similarity is the fact that within both genres, there is a significant amount of conscious material released. Which is really much needed in this time and Iwa.
One Love, Give Thanks,
